Why print?
I have recently discovered the beautiful nudes by Bill Brandt and Willy Ronis. It is the first time I approached the subject so I have no idea of how does this type of market. In photography, art refers to the "original" photo somewhere (museums, galleries, etc. ..) or the original idea, as pictures, does not exist since you can make copies of negatives. In addition, prints (signed in the background) by the authors as objects of value as say they are (€ 7,000 for Ronis prints)? Well, if you share some information could about the topic and the authors that would be great!
In most cases, the photographic "Original" is the negative, not to print it. Original prints belong to a single or serial reversals of the negative, often silver prints Description or produced under his direction. Prints (lithographs, serigraphs, Monos, etc) are usually made in a limited number of numbered and signed by the artist. Then There are reproductions of the originals (sprays, rotos, offsets, etc) usually made from photographs or scans of original art … sometimes copied (fake) of unknowns … These are the cheapest and most commonly used for decoration, sometimes known as substitutions for originals (for security).
